Coach Kayla
At just 23 years old, Coach Kayla brings a youthful yet experienced
perspective to the Velocity Elite Track Club. Growing up in Jacksonville, FL,
Coach Kayla discovered a passion for track and field at the age of twelve. It was
not until her junior year of high school, however, that she truly began to hone
her skills and dedicate herself fully to the sport. After seven years of
rigorous training and competition, track and field became an integral part of
her life.
Coach Kayla specializes in hurdling events and the 4x400 meter relay, but
her experience spans all disciplines of track and field. This broad expertise
allows her to offer comprehensive training and insights to athletes of all
levels. During her high school career, she excelled in various events,
consistently achieving personal bests and setting records. Her dedication and
commitment to the sport were evident in her daily training routines, meticulous
attention to technique, and strategic race planning.
Beyond her high school years, Coach Kayla continued to develop her skills
and knowledge through collegiate-level competitions and coaching clinics at
University of Florida. She participated in numerous track meets, gaining
valuable experience and insights into the intricacies of different events. Her
hands-on experience, coupled with her theoretical understanding of the sport,
makes her a well-rounded coach.
Drawing from her own journey, Coach Kayla aims to leverage her athletic
experience to mentor young athletes, helping them not only achieve but exceed
their goals. Her high school years were marked by hard work and perseverance,
supported by a strong network of coaches, teammates, and family. This solid
foundation has shaped her coaching philosophy.
As a coach, Kayla is committed to cultivating confidence and motivation in
aspiring athletes. She strives to create an environment where young athletes
