Coach David

Coach David, was named Fairleigh Dickinson University's (FDU's) sixth full-time Director of Athletics on January 16, 2003, he brings 38 years of collegiate experience as a coach, administrator, and educator. Over his 16-year tenure, he enhanced the Knights’ athletic programs, achieving notable success including two women’s bowling National Championships and multiple conference titles across various sports. Coach David prioritized academic excellence, maintaining a department GPA above 3.2 for 14 straight semesters.

He significantly improved FDU’s facilities, overseeing projects like a new softball field, FieldTurf installation, and the creation of the Naimoli Family Baseball Complex. Langford also boosted fundraising efforts, increasing annual giving by over 50%.

Active in the Teaneck community, he served as interim Council member and held leadership roles in several local organizations. Prior to FDU, he was at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, where he served as Associate Athletic Director and head coach of the women’s cross country/track program, among other roles. He also worked at Loyola University of Chicago and Northwestern University in various academic support positions.

A Millersville University graduate, Coach David earned a bachelor’s degree in comprehensive social studies and a master’s in counselor education. He and his wife, Karen, have two children and enjoy spending time with their grandchildren. Certified USATF and AAU Coach.
