Coach Crystal

Coach Crystal brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for athletics
to her coaching career, rooted in a lifelong dedication to sports and
leadership. Her journey began as an Illinois State champion in the 300m
hurdles, a testament to her early talent and commitment to track and field.

Following her high school success, she pursued higher education with
Division One track scholarships at Central Michigan University and the
University of Illinois-Chicago. During her collegiate years, she not only
excelled academically but also set impressive records in multiple events
including the long jump, 55m, 55m hurdles, 100m hurdles, and 400m hurdles, both
at her schools and within her conference.

Her competitive spirit and drive extended beyond collegiate athletics as she
became a standout performer in USATF Junior Olympics, winning and setting
records in the 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles at the regional level and
qualifying nationally. Her achievements culminated in an appearance at the NCAA
Championships in the 400m hurdles in 2003.

Graduating with a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Wayland Baptist
University, she transitioned her focus to coaching, where she continues to make
a profound impact. Her coaching career includes significant roles such as
Assistant Track and Field Coach at Eielson High School in North Pole, AK, from
2009 to 2012, during which time her athletes claimed nine individual state
championships and 12 Division One scholarships during her tenure.

Coach Crystal's commitment to developing young athletes is further evidenced
by her volunteer work with the USATF Angelic Flyers Track Club from 2003 to
2006. Under her guidance, the club produced over 15 USATF Regional Champions
and National qualifiers, highlighting her ability to nurture talent and foster
success at a competitive level.

She recently volunteered her expertise with the Speed Starz track team, in
Wesley Chapel, FL from 2022 to 2024, contributing to the development of several
nationally ranked athletes. Her coaching philosophy blends technical expertise
with mentorship, instilling discipline, resilience, and a love for the sport in
each athlete she guides.

Beyond her coaching accomplishments, Coach Crystal's background as a retired
United States Air Force officer underscores her leadership abilities and
commitment to excellence in every facet of her career. Her diverse experiences
and unwavering dedication continue to inspire and shape the next generation of
